For improved safety, we are working to attach new gas valve caps, more durable than conventional caps, to unused gas outlets not connected to any gas appliances.
The new gas valve cap is intended to be fitted to gas outlets that meet the following two conditions.
We recommend replacing previous models of gas valves with highly safe gas valves (for a fee). With a highly safe gas valve, the safety device will work to automatically shut off the gas if the rubber hose (soft gas cord) is detached.
If there is an inspection port-equipped gas valve in your cabinet as shown in the figure, note 1 and 2 below.
Threaded gas valves not connected to any gas appliances must have a plug attached. If you accidentally open a threaded gas valve without a plug, it may cause a gas leak or fire.
Plug installation requires specialist techniques. For more information, contact Osaka Gas Network. Removing a gas appliance from a threaded gas valve also requires specialist techniques.
It is important to check gas pipe condition to prevent gas leaks and other accidents. We appreciate your understanding in this regard.
If you cannot check the gas pipe condition from outside, please consider newly providing an inspection port, by consulting a builder.
Apply with Osaka Gas Network for gas construction up to gas valves. Osaka Gas Network (or a gas construction company approved by Osaka Gas Network) will do the work. Please follow these instructions without fail to use the gas safely.
Please also note that any gas construction is prohibited by law (Gas Business Act) without the permission of the gas business operator.
The gas valve was not used in the proper location when replacing a gas appliance.
